This PATA SSD is designed to breathe new life into old laptops which are running slowly because of their obsolete hard drive.

Many people become frustrated with their laptop as it ages because it seems to “slow down” as the months and years pass by. This may partly be because our expectations of modern technology increases. However, a lot of the problem is because software improves and becomes more complex, but the hardware we try to use on it stays the same. The main problem is in the area of storage - hard drives of a few years ago, (and even current hard drives) are significantly slower than solid state drives, especially the physically smaller hard drives which are used in notebook computers.

This unique KingSpec Laptop Upgrade Drive is designed to fix the problem by offering a complete direct replacement for any 1.8 inch parallel ATA laptop hard drive with ATA6/CF 50 pin interface. It will give an unbelievable speed increase for any ageing machine, especially when it boots up, shuts down or loads a program.

Upgrading an existing machine rather than throwing it out and buying a new one makes much more sense both from an environmental and financial point of view. You don’t need to “learn” a new machine - you’re already familiar with the one you own and you probably enjoy using it apart from the fact that runs a bit slow. You don’t need to buy a whole new set of accessories, chargers and cases. In addition, sometimes an older good quality machine can be more pleasurable and durable to use than a newer more cheaply built computer.

We recommend this replacement hard drive for any laptop which “chugs along” with seemingly ever-decreasing speed and which really needs to be given a new lease of life.
