Noctua has forged a very well-respected name for itself in enthusiast circles, and it’s abundantly clear from the outset that the NH-U12P is another superbly made product. With ultra-high quality bearings and uniquely notched fan blades, its fans are among the smoothest sounding we have seen bundled with any heat sink.
They are also exceptionally quiet, being barely audible over the rest of our test system without any form of RPM control. This is an exceptionally high quality product and is well worth a look if you’re hoping to get the best out of a new i7 setup.

The cooler is easy to install. The backplate and socket mount is separate from the cooler, so you can attach it quickly and then screw the cooler into the socket mount. If low noise is more important to you than pure cooling ability, this HSF is a great choice. Overall: 81%, Approved.
