Easy As Pie - A Perfect Solution

I bought a pair of these coolers and an extra fan - plus a power cable as advised by Andy in Tech Support, which turned out to be essential – thank you Andy! These were replacements for the noisy (OMG NOISY!) stock coolers in my dual-socket quad core server (Dual Intel Xeon E5405 – 771’s) mounted on an Intel S5000VSA motherboard.

I am fairly used to assembling and disassembling computers but even so I was slightly nervous about mounting these enormous beasts. I was very happy to find that installation was as simple as attaching the fans to the coolers and literally dropping them into place. They fitted perfectly and removal of the motherboard was not required. The extra-long Allen keys supplied with the coolers made tightening the bolts a doddle.

Fans are almost silent in use even though three are running without the ‘slow down’ resistors which were supplied.
