Jonsbo U2 Mini-ITX Aluminium Cases

The U2 is the medium sized model in the attractive U series for home PC systems. Slightly larger than the U1, the U2 can accommodate ATX PSUs and a graphics card.

The Jonsbo U2 is a compact case in the attractive U-series of home PC systems. The main feature of this case series is the timeless design line with the elegantly rounded corners and a very appealing exterior.

The refined unobtrusive design ensures that it can blend in with any environment. The blue illuminated power button and the I/O panel with 2x USB 3.0 and the HD audio connectors is recessed into the front of the case. The frame of the U2 is made of 2.0 mm thick anodised aluminium, while side and rear panels are each 1.5 mm thick.

Based on experience and by studying customer requirements, the focus during the development of the U2 was the implementation of the original ITX-concept. For this reason, assembly areas for optical drives or extra-long video cards have been left out. Graphics cards up to a length of 220 mm and CPU coolers up to a height of 175 mm are supported - enough space for most common configurations.

The high-quality and well-manufactures ITX case supports Mini-ITX motherboards up to a maximum size of 170 x 170 mm. The installation of the motherboard is very simple - after removing the left side panel it can be installed with little effort on the right side panel. The case is compatible with Standard ATX PSUs and offer two expansion slots.

The bottom of the case is where the hard drives are mounted. It is possible to install either a single 3.5” HDD or alternatively two 2.5” SSD/HDDs on the floor of the case. Also, if another 3.5” drive is require it is possible to install one on the inside of the front panel, as shown in the image below, alternatively this space can be used to mount an additional 120mm if required. All drives are mounted using anti-vibration mounts.

Due to the compact size the U1 offers no optical drive or expansion cards and thus follows the original ITX - idea. Mini-ITX motherboards are so feature rich that expansion cards are not always necessary. It is therefore aimed at users who are looking for a very stylish PC for typical living room or office applications. Thanks to the intelligent design of the case it is even possible to install CPU coolers with a maximum height of up to 135 mm, so even compact tower cooler can be installed.

The ventilation system of U2 is designed for lowest possible noise levels. The case is supplied with one 120mm rear fan which can be adjusted via an external multi-stage switch. Even without the use of a front fan an effective cooling of the system is possible. CPU coolers with a maximum height of 175mm can be installed, making it compatible with most CPU coolers currently available.
