Zalman CNPS7000C Super Flower Cooler

Zalman’s famous “super flower cooler” makes a surprise re-appearance! The original design has been updated, made lighter, slicker and with its best pricing ever. It is now a “one for all sockets” design, meaning the same cooler can be used on your Intel (775) or AMD (AM2/754/939/940) processor. As you would expect, the CNPS7000C operates virtually silently at its minimum fan speed setting, but yet offers excellent cooling. Its 92mm fan is completely enclosed in the heatsink fan arrangement, making the cooler easy to install.

Made from an assembly of individually punched out sheets of 0.4mm thick copper, the fins are then squeezed together under high pressure and bolted tightly together to create the unique super flower look. The fan is a standard 3-pin affair and the cooler is supplied with a Zalman FANMATE 2 to give you full control over the speed and ultimately the noise of the cooler.

Zalman’s unique milling process provides excellent heat transfer between the base of the cooler and the top of the processor offering the very best heat transfer possible.

Fan Controller Included

Because the fan is a standard 3-pin fan the motherboard has no control over the speed of the fan so Zalman have included their Fanmate 2 so that you can set your preferred cooling/noise balance. The Zalman FANMATE 2 has a small rotary knob which can be turned in either direction, to raise or lower the fan speed. Once you are happy with the noise/airflow setting, just leave the knob set in its position and your installation is finished but please ensure that your CPU temperature doesn’t get too high while under load if you have the fan speed set quite low.

Installation Considerations

To ensure that the cooler will fit on your motherboard you need to check that no motherboard components with a height greater than 39mm, as well as the PSU, disk drives, VGA card, and RAM are present within a 55mm radius from the center of the CPU.

The only other measurement that you might want to check is that you have the necessary room above the CPU socket to fit the cooler. As it is only 63 mm tall it will fit in all but the slimmest of cases.
