This graphics card gives very respectable performance at this price point and is a great way to add extra video outputs for multiple-monitor PC configurations.

The Asus GT620-1GD3-L is a great video card to choose where respectable performance is needed in Windows or Linux at a very affordable price. The card will primarily be of interest to customers who wish to improve motherboard on-board graphics and/or extend the number of video outputs for multi-monitor setups.

The graphics card has ‘Super Alloy Power’ capacitors which offer a lifespan in excess of 2.5 times more than standard components. The card offers performance which exceeds that which can be enjoyed in complete silence because its chips run too hot to be cooled passively, hence it has a fan on its heatsink. Fan noise is not excessive, especially when compared with some high-performance gaming cards which are on the market. The dust-proof fan design increases particle resistance and extends the card lifespan by up to 25% compared with the Nvidia reference design.

The card is physically quite small and can be installed in low-profile PCI Express slots - all that’s required is to swap the back bracket for the smaller one included in the box, although the D-SUB VGA connection will be lost. The card is multimedia-focused and is optimised for smooth 1920 x 1080 streaming and Blu-ray 3D. If desired, the included GPU Tweak utility allows you to modify and tune clock speeds, voltages and fan performance via an intuitive user interface.
