AMD AM4 Processors

AMD’s Ryzen offer multicore processors that are hard to ignore if you are looking to build a powerful PC for any purpose!

AMD have often been in the shadow of Intel in terms of performance when it come to desktop processors. That is until AMD released their new Ryzen CPUs. Based on the “Zen” Core Architecture all Ryzen CPUs are built with SenseMI Technology allowing them to truly deliver an intelligent processor. Each processor is cable of being overclocked and feature a turbo core speed to provide the extra processing power when needed.

All Ryzen CPUs feature the following

AMD SenseMI Technology

AMD introduces SenseMI technology, a set of learning and adapting features that help the AMD Ryzen processor customise its performance to you and your applications. AMD SenseMI Technology allows for the following.

  • Cool and quiet processor operation using a sophisticated grid of smart sensors.
  • Fine-tuned processor performance adjusted in real time to meet the performance demands of your game or app.
  • Automatic extra performance boost for enthusiasts with premium systems and processor cooling.
  • Built-in artificial intelligence that primes your processor to tackle your app workload more efficiently.
  • Learning algorithms that predict and pre-load needed data for fast and responsive computing.

The “Zen” Core Architecture

AMD’s high-performance x86 Core “Zen” architecture delivers >52% improvement in instructions-per-clock cycle over the previous generation AMD core, without increasing power. The “Zen” core is an all-new “clean sheet” x86 processor design that’s inspiring a new generation of high-performance AMD computing products in 2017 and beyond. “Zen” combines the latest thinking in high-throughput and low-power design methodologies to create a balanced and versatile architecture right at home in the desktop, laptop, data center and supercomputer.

AMD Ryzen Master Utility

Every AMD Ryzen processor is multiplier-unlocked from the factory, so you can personalise performance to your taste. AMD provides the AMD Ryzen Master utility to access this powerful advantage. AMD Ryzen Master provides for up to four profiles to store custom clocks and voltage adjustments for both the Ryzen CPU and DDR4 memory. You can park cores and adjust memory timings too. Accurate hardware status updates are vital, so AMD Ryzen Master has you covered with both real-time monitoring and a histogram of per-core clock rates and temperature, including average and peak readings.

Product Differences

Ryzen 3

AMD Ryzen 3 1300X processor is the entry-level model of the new generation of AMD CPUs based on the Zen architecture. Featuring 4 physical cores and 4 threads, the Ryzen 3 CPU provides excellent performance in multithreaded applications such as video encoding or when running a couple of applications at once. Paired with a compatible motherboard and sufficient cooling you can further boost the performance of this processor by overclocking.

Ryzen 5

AMD Ryzen 5 1600 processor is AMD’s mid-range model based on the Zen architecture. It features 6 physical cores and 12 threads thanks to SMT technology. The Ryzen 5 CPU provides great performance in gaming and multithreaded applications such as video encoding. Just like the Ryzen 3, when paired with a compatible motherboard and sufficient cooling you can further boost the performance of this processor by overclocking.

Ryzen 7

AMD Ryzen 7 1700(X) processors were the first of AMD’s CPUs based on the Zen architecture. They feature 8 physical cores and 16 threads plus a further 8 virtual cores courtesy of SMT technology. The Ryzen 7 CPUs deliver excellent performance in all area of multithreaded applications such as video encoding and just like the others you can further boost the performance of this processor by overclocking.
