Excellent cooling performance

The cooler is equipped with three 92mm PWM fans which run from 900 to 2000 RPM, generating 81 CFM airflow for efficient heat dissipation from the GPU core.

The Accelero XTREME 5870 features five heatpipes and 84 fins providing 250 watts cooling capacity for a Radeon HD5870. A layer of the ARCTIC MX-2 thermal compound is also pre-applied on the base of the cooler.

The results are astounding! During testing the GPU temperature of Radeon HD5870 could be up to 36C lower compared to the standard ATI stock cooler. This not only increases the overclocking potential, but also extends the service life of the valuable graphics card.

Whisper quiet

Using three fans does not mean the noise level will be high. The precise fan blade design improves the airflow and helps to reduce the noise level to a minimum - only 0.5 sone at full speed (2000 RPM). The patented fan holder and PWM function helps the Accelero XTREME 5870 to reduce the noise further, creating a much quieter gaming environment.

Awesomely cool

I now have no room left in my case - these things are big - but I am running cool & quiet at last.

Temperature stays in the 40’s when gaming and there is no jump in audible level whilst gaming. Worth the money!

I have 2 XFX HD5870 GPUs and fitting two of these in is a definite squeeze. Also, just a note to buyers - I had to modify one of the RAM heatsinks as it was too long to fit on the card but that was fairly easy.

Ordered on Sunday and got it on Tuesday and fitted within 10 minutes. Easy to install and looks the bees knees. with the old stock cooler the temps were at 60 degrees on 21% fan speed and this temp went up to 90% when playing games. With the Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme 5870 ATI HD5870 VGA cooler fitted the temps are now at 30 degrees and hit 36 when playing the same games. Unbelievable! This is the best money I’ve put into my pc. Well worth it and I’m glad I bought from Quiet PC.

I originally bought one of these to replace a failing stock fan on my secondary 5870. The cooler is a bit bigger in height than stock but I found that on my P6TD Deluxe there would be enough room to put one on my primary card. Impressed by the design, quietness, ease of installation and cooling performance, I have now ordered another!

Although the guide says to use a tissue on the GPU core and a eraser on the RAM and VRMs, I would recommend using thermal material remover first to ensure the surfaces are free from impurities.
