Nexus Thrio 310 Acoustically Lined Computer Case

Nexus release a very affordable acoustically lined case to help minimise noise made by the computer.

The Nexus Thrio 310 case is a great choice for a quiet computer. It features tool-less installation making it a breeze to install components. Its sleek professional look and materials make the case fit in anywhere. The black mesh front and side panels with the Nexus logo stamped give the Thrio 310 a distinguished look.

Nexus have pre-installed to the rear of the case one of their excellent 120mm Silent Series case fans. Some isolating padding where the PSU is placed prevents resonance. And there are ventilation holes to mount the PSU upside down, so the hot air of the PSU will not get inside the case at all. The rubber feet at the bottom of the case keep the case elevated from the floor to make smooth airflow possible and to eliminate resonance.

Noise absorption

The Nexus Thrio 310 case is fitted with noise absorption material. It is a premium dense foam/rubber-like material with great characteristics. These materials really help reduce the noise of the system.

Tool-less installation

Optical drives are installed tool-less with a convenient open/lock system and the side panels are easily being opened with the thumb screws.

PSU bumpers

Nexus have fixed some nice padding on the areas where normally the PSU would hit the chassis. They have attached some patches on the bottom of the case and a little frame around the PSU opening at the back of the case. These bumpers are made form soft foam/rubber-like materials and absorb the vibrations caused by the PSU and prevent any resonance to be transmitted to the chassis.

Top Fan (optional)

The Thrio 310 has extra space to mount a fan in the top of the case. As heat normally goes up it’s very convenient to have some airflow through the top of the case. The vent has a plastic mesh on the inside so small parts will not fall in the case if there is no fan installed.
