Intel 5th Gen NUC Core i5-5300U, NUC5I5MYHE supports 2.5in Drive and vPro

Aimed at business users, Intel’s NUC5I5MYHE features a 2.3 GHz i5-5300U CPU, twin mini-DisplayPort outputs and vPro technology.

From enterprise to small and medium business, university computing labs to call centres, the Intel NUC is driving new models of computing in small spaces. The new Intel NUC kit NUC5i5MYHE and board NUC5i5MYBE are powered by the Intel Core i5-5300U vPro processor, providing an ideal combination of performance and reliability for usages where downtime isn’t an option.

Intel vPro technology helps you manage repairs remotely, reducing the time it takes to resolve hardware problems by 66 percent and software problems by 88 percent giving customers the reliability and availability they require. The advanced capabilities of the Intel Core i5 vPro processor gives customers performance to run video analytics to target messages to the right audience. And the triple display capability means customers can deliver their messages across multiple screens. With 4K display support it’s an ideal device for digital signage with video analytics, digital kiosk, intelligent vending, or PC replacement.

At the front

The front of the NUC is quite minimalist. It features two USB 3.0 ports and a headphone/microphone socket.

Around the back

At the rear of the NUC an optional serial port is available to allow the option to connect legacy embedded devices meaning that it can be customised for a wide-range of usages, including POS systems. A replaceable lid further extends options for customisation, enabling third-party innovation and new usage models with NFC and USB headers.

Intel NUC NUC5i5MYHE has the option to install a 2.5” drive and/or an M.2 SSD (Key Type B). The choice gives customers options to store all their files locally or take advantage of the fast, power-efficient M.2 form factor which minimises load times and improves reliability.

The NUC also has two mini-DisplayPort 1.2 ports with one of them being eDP. eDP means “Embedded DisplayPort” which helps to reduce power consumption and also allows for a touch panel screen to be used. There are also two USB 3.0 ports and a 10/100/1000Mbit Ethernet port.
