Extremely Cool
The unique twin tower heatsink consists of 102 fins which significantly increase the heat dissipation area to distribute massive amounts of heat faster and more efficiently. The 120mm PWM fan which, combined with the eight heatpipes (4 double-sided) and the twin tower heatsink, not only transfers heat from the CPU but also cools the RAM, north bridge and voltage regulators. Together with the pre-applied MX-2 thermal paste, the Freezer Xtreme 2 offers performance far beyond stock coolers and easily achieves up to 160 watts of cooling capacity. It is an excellent thermal management solution that boosts overclocking to a new level.
Extremely Quiet
The 120mm fan of the Freezer Xtreme 2 is equipped with a low noise impeller and patented fan holder for quiet operation. Controlled by a PWM signal, the fan runs at just the necessary speed for lowest noise level at maximum cooling capacity. The result is outstanding: the Freezer Xtreme generates only 0.5 Sone at full load, much quieter than standard and aftermarket coolers even with bigger fans.

PLEASE NOTE - Arctic Cooling measure noise levels in Sone (loudness) instead of dB (sound intensity). The loudness depends upon your ears’ response curves and tells you how noticeable a certain noise is.

Don’t fancy removing your motherboard? Then the Arctic Cooling is for you. Its performance is solid, with a temperature of 70° keeping our chip reasonably happy. And it is well-priced for such a large cooler. Overall: 70%.
MicroMart
Performance-wise, the Freezer does the job, keeping our heavily overclocked processor at an impressive 55°C. Although this isn’t the best temperature on show, it’s an excellent showing for a £30 heat sink. Score: 80%.

Incorrect Dimensions Given
Great looking cooler, really looks the part. Unfortunately I can’t test it or use it. The dimensions given for this cooler are 130L x 100W x 131H mm. These are incorrect. My Media Case has a clearance of 150mm from motherboard base to the top of the cover. But on inserting the Arctic Cooling Freezer Xtreme Rev.2 i could not get the lid on! At first I thought maybe my mistake and measure the distance again YEP a clearance of 150mm from motherboard base to the top of the cover! So I then measured to cooler and it is 157mm tall, not the 131mm that is advertised both both Arctic and quite pc :-( Think I need to RMA this one cos it isn’t correctly described. Shame really, great cooler and great service with next day delivery yet again from QUIET PC…..

Amazing
When I unpacked this I was a bit sceptical about whether it would fit, but it assembled easily in minutes and my AMD Phenom II x6 1055T is currently running at an incredible 25 degrees C in a location where the stock cooler would have it in excess of 40 degrees - and I can’t hear it. This does exactly what I wanted. The only downside is that now the noise from the PSU is getting on my nerves. I know what to do next, then… Get a PSU from Quiet PC!
Works perfectly
I put this on to an AMD II X6 about three months ago and have had no problems at all. It is both quiet and keeps the processor perfectly cool. I’d have no hesitation in recommending this.
Great CPU cooler
Does what it says on the box… Super quiet and CPU is running 8 degrees C cooler at idle than before. One point when fitting though - it does not seem to mention what way round to put the fan in the heat sink. Make sure you know its rotation or it will blow air the wrong way. And thanks for the great service Quiet PC.
hmmmm
I found this cooler to be a complete pain to fit, i had to take it off a couple of times for various reasons and every time it took me ages to get it back on.
Excellent Cooling Performance
Hi,
Bought this item Tuesday it came Wednesday, fitted it Wednesday night.
Previously using my stock cooler I was getting around 60’c running all 4 cores of my i5 750 at 100% with Turbo Boost and O/C’d to 4GHz.
With my new cooler I am getting just over 40’c that a difference on average over the 4 cores of 20’c!
Excellent product supplied by an excellent company!
